Year 6 Residential trip 2025
Monday 16th June to Friday 21st June

This week year 6 have been away on their residential trip and have been raft building, high ropes, abseiling, swimming, camp fires and much more. Following are a selection of photos, more will be published shortly. Click here to view the children’s letters to home.

Year 4 visit the new school
At the end of term 4, Year 4 visited the new school to see how where they will be going to in June.

Year 1 visit to Canterbury Cathedral
Squirrel Class had a great time on their class trip to Canterbury Cathedral.

Year 5 visit to the new school building
During the last week of term 4, Year 5 visited the new school building to see the progress that is being made.

Dragonfly Class visit Teynham Library
On Thursday 6th March 2025, half of the Dragonfly Class visited our local library. The children spent an afternoon reading books and listening to a story.

Forest School groups took part in the Big Schools’ Birdwatch 2025

Year 6 Police Cadet trip February 2025

At the end of Term 3 the Year 6 Police Cadets visited the police museum in Faversham and had a great time.

Scooterbility February 2025
KS1 recently had a scooter morning learning safety and having fun.

Thursday 14th November 2024

Year 6 went to Canterbury Cathedral and proudly took part in a parade as well as giving speeches.

Monday 11th November 2024

The children took part in a service to mark Remembrance Day as well as creating wonderful window displays.

Friday 8th November 2024

The school welcomed a representative from the Kent Fire Service who gave an informative chat about fire safety to all the children.

Thursday 2nd May 2024

Detling Showground Living Land trip.

On Thursday 2nd May Years 3 and 4 visited the Living Land trip. They were able to taste and touch a range of foods grown on local farms, pet animals , use farm equipment and learn about keeping our world safe and happy, watch a machinery show and s sheep show! All the children were amazingly behaved and asking interesting questions to find out more about the world they live in.

World Book Day

This year the children designed their own book character and brought in their fabulous creations, these now adorn many walls throughout the school. Here is a photo of some of the members of staff who dressed up for the day.

Years 1 and 2 recently had a visit to Teynham Library to see the books on offer at our local library and here are a few pictures from their visit.

Friday 26th January 2024

The whole school took part in Rail Safety Day. The children watched a video and took part in many activities related to Rail Safety. This is an extremely important subject as we have a train station with a level crossing at the end of the road. The atmosphere in the school was great, as the children made, posters, models and podcasts including all of the facts they had learnt today.

Year 6 visit to The Sittingbourne School
Week commencing 4th December Year 6 went to The Sittingbourne School to see a production of Frozen.

Author visit

We welcomed author Nikki Lewis into school this week, Nikki is a local writer who has written a number of children’s books. she came in to talk to pupils about two new books she has written and are to be released later next year. It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to put a face to the name on the cover of a book and also listen to stories told directly by the author. Reception very much enjoyed being read to, while Year 3 took part in a mini-writing workshop which explored the planning involved in writing a story.

No Pens Day – As part of Speech and Language UK’s, No Pens Day, several of our classes enjoyed activities that promoted work without pens and instead supported speech, language and communication skills. Year 4 used LEGO to model Stonehenge, which supported their topic work.

While Year 3 were outside for their numeracy work making the most of the lovely sunshine, where they were exploring estimating. They were counting steps around the daily mile and comparing children’s steps, as well as making symmetrical pictures using natural objects.
