Keep safe
Sports week – 2nd to 5th June 2026
Sports Week was a fantastic celebration of physical activity, teamwork, and trying new experiences. Throughout the week, the children took part in a wide range of exciting sporting activities that encouraged them to develop new skills, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun.
One of the highlights of the week was experiencing Dragonball, the sport featured in the “Sammy Rambles” coming-of-age fantasy adventure book series written by UK author JT Scott.
In Dragonball, two teams compete using seven Dragonballs and aim to score in one of two goals. The game is highly inclusive and can be played while running, at walking pace, or in wheelchairs. It adapts to the age and abilities of the players, making it a multi-skill sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning the rules and developing their teamwork and communication skills through the game.
We were also delighted to welcome Reagan (Scooter Rider) and Choc (Parkour) from Creative Urban Sports, who delivered exciting scooter stunt and parkour sessions. The children had a wonderful time learning new techniques, building confidence, and challenging themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
A big thank you goes to our Year 6 children and Mr Wymer for leading a golf day in school. Despite the very wet weather, the children showed great enthusiasm and resilience and had a fantastic time taking part in the activities.
We finished the week with our annual Sports Day, where pupils demonstrated excellent determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The afternoon concluded with a thrilling Tug of War competition, which brought plenty of excitement, cheering, and friendly rivalry.
Thank you to all the staff, visitors, and pupils who helped make Sports Week such a memorable and enjoyable event. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another, and embracing the spirit of sport.
