This term, we have been learning about mountains. We have learnt lots of new words including: snow line, summit, face, peak, ridge and many many more. We have found out about the different types of mountains and learnt about mountains in the United Kingdom and around the world. We loved looking at lots of different mountains using Google Earth. Emily said ‘Now we have found out about mountains, if we go to one we can spot things that we know.’

In RE, our unit is Salvation and we are trying to answer the question: ‘Why do Christians call the day Jesus died GOOD FRIDAY’? We read parts of the Bible that tell the stories from Holy Week and thought about how Jesus’ mother, Mary, would have felt. Layla think that Mary would have been really happy at the end of Holy Week, when Jesus rose again.

In English, we have been learning how to write an explanation text. We are going to write an explanation about how the water cycle works. We even have a song that we have learnt, which tells us how it works. Sienna knows that water goes up, then comes down and spreads all around the world.

In Science, we have been learning about classification. We played a game of human Guess Who! We had to come up with questions to eliminate players and work out who the chosen person was.

We had a great day with Circo Rum Ba Ba learning about the environment and how we can look after the world. Christina said ‘I think it was the best day ever!’ We learnt about renewable and non-renewable energy sources and then presented our findings at a climate conference. Circo Rum Ba

Ba gave all the classes a seed bomb making kit, which we can’t wait to get making and planting around Teynham.

During Children’s Mental Health Week, we worked in 5 groups to complete 5 missions across a ‘Taskmaster’ week. We had to make a hat out of things in the class. We had to make a portrait of Miss Tapsell out of natural materials. We also made a rainbow with things from the classroom and created our own outdoors game. Lucas said, ‘It was really fun!’ We made sure we used our growth mindset to complete the missions and not give up if it got tricky.

On World Book Day, we made our own t shirts! We used books to help us design our very own t shirt and decorated it with fabric pens. We also did a book swap in school.

It’s been a really busy term, but we’ve worked hard and had a great time!
