We have enjoyed reading Stig of the Dump so far this term which links really well to our topic Through the Ages. We can understand how a character is feeling and make sensible predictions based on what we have read so far.
We have been learning different word types in English to help with writing cinquain poems. A. cinquain poem is a poem or stanza composed of five lines. Each line has a specific number of syllables. Words used in the poem can vary and include adjectives, action words, and feeling words. All cinquains follow the same pattern of syllables per line: 2, 4, 6, 8, 2. We are able to count syllables and write poems based on Iron Age jobs.
Maths
Its been a busy term learning how to add and subtract with numbers up to 100! We have worked extremely hard remembering our place value and are beginning to use written methods to add and subtracts. We are learning how to exchange when adding and borrowing when subtracting.
We are practicing our times tables and enjoying using Times Table Rockstar to improve our recall.
Topic
This term, we are learning about The Bronze and iron Age. We have been learning about changes to people and lifestyle caused by ingenuity, invention and technological advancement. Did you know Bronze is made from Copper and tin!
RE
In RE, we are learning about Sikhs. We can describe things that are important to Sikhs and show how these impact their lives and actions. In class we have made links between Sikh stories and the actions of Sikhs today. Sikhs believe that there is only one God, who they have several names for.
Science
In Science, we have been learning about Animal Nutrition and the Skeletal System . We have been thinking about scientific questions. We explore fatty food and investigated how much fat and sugar was in different foods. Our results surprised us! We have also thought about a balanced diet is important. We can name the different food groups and identify food within each group.
TTRS dress up day!
We have fun rocking out with irock in assembly. Zara even joined the band and was the keyboard player! She rocked!! Everyone enjoyed being a Rockstar for the day and participating ! Well done for everyone’s efforts! Keep rocking and keep logging onto TTRS!
