Ladybird Class Term 6 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all enjoyed the hot weather last week!
This week is Sports Week, and the children will have the opportunity to experience a range of different sports and activities. We will finish the week with our Sports Day on Friday morning, and we hope you will be able to come along and watch.
We have another fun-packed term ahead! We are really looking forward to our trip to the beach and a visit to the library.
Our topic this term is called “On the Beach.” The children will learn about seaside environments, including animals that live in rock pools and along the seashore. They will explore what makes a good day out at the beach and compare their own experiences with beach holidays in the past. We will also be learning about sea creatures, as well as seas and oceans around the world. As part of this topic, the children will think about how we can look after our environment to keep living things safe. They will also learn about staying safe at the beach and the people who help us.
In Maths, we will be exploring 3D shapes and identifying patterns, including patterns we can find in the environment. We will also continue to develop our understanding of number, focusing on counting patterns to 20 and beyond.
Alongside all of this, we will begin preparing the children for their transition into Year 1, helping them feel confident and ready for their next exciting step.
This term PE will be on Fridays. Please ensure PE kits are in school and that earrings are removed for this day.
