We have reached the final term of Reception, and what a busy and exciting year it has been!
This term kicked off with Sports Week, where the children had the fantastic opportunity to experience activities such as Dragonball, parkour, and scootering, led by special guests from Creative Urban Sports. The week ended with a very successful Sports Day, where every child took part with enthusiasm and determination. We were so proud of their teamwork and positive attitudes.
Our topic this term has been The Beach. We have enjoyed listening to stories such as Billy’s Bucket and have been learning all about sea creatures and their habitats. The children have shown great curiosity and have loved sharing their ideas and knowledge.
A real highlight of the term was our first class trip to Broadstairs Beach. Even though we had to dodge the rain, the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They were fantastic role models for our school, and members of the public even commented on their excellent behaviour – something we are incredibly proud of!
Back in the classroom, we have been very busy consolidating all of our phonics sounds and using these to begin writing simple sentences. It has been wonderful to see the children grow in confidence and independence with their writing.
