Ladybird Class (Reception) Term 4 blog

Teynham School > Reception - Ladybird > Ladybird Class (Reception) Term 4 blog
It has been so lovely to see the sunshine making an appearance recently! The children have really enjoyed spending more time outside and taking part in some exciting activities. We have been busy planting seeds, beans and flowers, and the children are very excited to watch them grow over the coming weeks.
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. At the start of the week, we joined an author online and listened to the story Betsy Buglove and the Lucky Ladybirds. The children then took part in a fun “draw the character” session where they learned how to draw Betsy. We also discovered lots of interesting facts about ladybirds.

Later in the week, we arrived in the classroom to find a mysterious crime scene! Our books had been stolen, and the children had to become detectives to work out who the culprit might be. They loved searching for clues and sharing their ideas to solve the mystery.

In maths, we have continued our work with numbers, using Numberblocks to support our learning. The children have been exploring numbers in different ways and building their confidence with counting and recognising numbers.

We have also been very active this term. The children have enjoyed taking part in Drumba, where they exercise using drums, as well as getting outside to use the MUGA. In PE, we have been developing our throwing and catching skills through a range of fun games and activities.

It has been a busy and exciting term so far, and the children have shown great enthusiasm in all of their learning!
